"Luminous golden yellow color with a subtly reddish copper hue. Very attractively nuanced and fine-tuned nose with sweet-toned aromas of honey, arctic bramble, some stony minerality, a little bit of savory woody spice, light orange marmalade tones and a hint of mushroomy botrytis. The wine is broad, quite full-bodied and rather oily on the palate with very sweet and complex yet surprisingly fresh flavors of dried peach and apricots, cloudberry jam, dried pineapple, some mushroomy botrytis tones, light orange marmalde notes, a little bit of burnt sugar and a touch of savory, woody spice. The wine is moderately high in acidity, making the wine come across pretty light on its feet. The finish is rich, lengthy and quite creamy with bright flavors of cloudberry liqueur, apricot jam, some smoky mineral tones, a little bit of wet stones, light notes of caramel and a hint of honeycomb. 95 Points"

"This is one of those opening blunders that prompt me to post here. I was looking for a little sweet wine to go with my evening cheeses, and—bam—I opened what is, for me, one of the greatest Hungarian wines I know. And it was my last bottle of this impossible-to-find bottling. In short, for me, it’s a bit like opening a great vintage of Yquem to pair with a ham omelet. ... This is a single-varietal Hárslevelű—reminding me of Italian *passito*—but styled as a 6-Puttonyos, the pinnacle of density for Aszú wines. A single-varietal wine with such density is relatively rare; it offers a purity and linear structure that traditional Aszús lack—those tend to be more "wild" in their aromatic range and behavior on the palate. The color is ochre-yellow with bronze highlights. The nose is a monument of fruit: quince, acacia honey, dried apricot, pineapple, and fresh peach. I can almost feel the peach's fuzz on the tip of my nose... it’s a promising start. The palate is even more masterful. I’m absolutely floored by the sheer scale of the wine—ample, dense, and all-encompassing. It possesses an unctuous silkiness of such intensity that it almost makes me shudder, threatening to become an undrinkable, cloying syrup... yet that doubt vanishes instantly as the fruit explodes, liquefying all that power into a juice of great finesse. It’s a bit like homemade gelatin suddenly melting from the heat of the mouth, reverting to the juice or broth from which it was made. In short, the fruit takes center stage here—quince leading the way, followed by a whole array of yellow fruits. That is the "moment" the acidity kicks in. It bears no resemblance to that central, almost structural acidity that forms the backbone of fine Aszús. No, it is more like a light second wave following the powerful initial one, refreshing the palate with a delicate secondary layer: the sweetness, the fruitiness, the juiciness... everything takes on a new dimension, yet without the slightest hint of excess—much like a pastel drawing that commands attention through the indisputable mastery of its execution rather than the sheer weight of its medium. The finish is endless and evocative, as the entire wine seems to echo within it, rather than just one of its more persistent characteristics. As you can tell, this is a truly magnificent bottle—and one that stirred deep emotion in me."
