"Opaque coffee black (and a very little brown at the rim). Nose is chockablock with fig, prune, balsamic, and coffee. Palate is much the same, but with huge, almost overwhelming molasses; massively rich and viscous, like motor oil. Then it has terrific citric acid-mandarin-skin oil-like lift to the essentially eternal finish. This wine will live forever."
