"Classic amber color. Fresh aroma, lots of pine needles, intense, spicy Muscat effect, with orange peel and dried apricots. The wine is practically permeated with primary youth. Hot year: much more syrupy texture, great sweetness, but with an immense amount of yellow exotic fruit, marmalade, and apricot jam filling the wine. High sugar, discreet acidity, endless flavor, with candied yellow fruits, jammy. Amazingly deep and long. It still has limitless potential. An unforgettable experience, but completely different from the 1999."

After 1996 and 1999, this is only the third Essencia made by István Szepsy. After the extremely hot summer of 2007 the wines from the vintage are generally higher in sugar level but balanced with the completely ripe acids resulting complexity and elegant structure with lovely finesse and long finish. This vintage favoured the development of the Botrytis so perfectly ripen aszú berries were hand harvested from the whole estate from the middle of October till the end of November from berry by berry. After long years this was the vintage when Eszencia was produced again at Szepsy. After 9 years aging in 300 litres big Hungarian Zemplén oak barrel Eszencia went on bottling at the beginning of 2015.
