The Dalwigk family belongs to ancient nobility of Hesse-Waldeck, with a history dating back to the 13th century. Franz von Dalwigk zu Lichtenfels was the owner of the gothic manor Schrecksbach in northern Hesse (Germany) and a member of the German Reichstag from 1878-1893. He owned a wine estate in Erdöbénye, which was taken by his son Francis Maria von Dalwigk zu Lichtenfels after his death in 1896.
